Our Spaces

With wonderful views across to the moor, Tiny Wilds is set in a safe and secure nature garden, planted with fruit trees and wild flowers, and allows our children to explore and nurture their connection with nature.

Our spaces are informed by and infused with nature, from our big-windowed yurt, to our moorland-view play garden.

Outdoor Environment

The outdoor environment offers rich learning experiences and, here at Tiny Wilds, we are fortunate to have access to some of England’s most wild and unspoilt landscape. The enclosed Tiny Wilds garden is a sectioned off part of the Farm house garden and offers a secure oasis of wild flowers and fruit trees in which children are free to run and play, with paths mown through the long grass, a growing area for our veggies, willow dome, sweetpea tipi, a digging patch and mud kitchen. The farm animals live a short walk from our home space, and the river is just a run, hop and skip through the secluded fields.

We have a beautiful willow dome that was created by the Tiny Wilds community - parents and children alike were involved in the process and this special space provides a child-sized den.

Our outdoor environment is not only limited to the beautiful grounds we have to explore at and around the Farm. Visits to the post office, park, shops and the bus station are important places that help children learn and understand about the world around them.

Our indoor space is a beautiful, spacious yurt that helps to develop togetherness and friendship - its roundness invokes a cosy sense of safety and inclusion.

Indoor Environment

With floor to ceiling windows, our indoor space is light and airy as well as feeling cosy and contained. The Tiny Wild’s yurt has places for the children to be creative with paint, explore musical instruments, read books, play in the home corner, build villages and castles, dress up and spend time being cosy and quiet. It is a place where children can explore their emotions and relationships with each other in a held environment.

Sensory play is an important way for children to learn. Not only is sensory play fun, it is also incredibly stimulating for a child’s brain. It supports fine and gross motor skills, cognitive growth and social skills. There will always be opportunity to explore varied sensory activities at Tiny Wilds, both inside the yurt and outside in our beautiful landscape.
